Job summary
Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a Cardiologist to provide comprehensive cardiology care and leadership in a VHA medical center. The position requires an MD or equivalent, active US license, and completed cardiology residency with eligibility for board certification.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship required; non-citizens only where VA policy allows
- MD or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine
- Current full and unrestricted medical license in US or DC
- Residency training approved for board eligibility in core cardiology
- Board certification or eligibility required for faculty/privileges
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiology care across ambulatory settings
- Document care in CPRS per policy
- Order and interpret cardiovascular diagnostics (labs, EKGs, imaging)
- Educate patients and families on prevention and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement, committees and education programs
- Coordinate with other specialties to meet patient needs
