Job summary

UCI Health, part of the University of California, Irvine, is seeking a Sr. Ultrasound Technologist to perform adult and pediatric echocardiography across multiple cardiology sites. You will recognize and describe findings, tailor procedures, and ensure comprehensive exams. Travel to off-site clinics is required.

The role includes training fellows and students, with shifts that may include after-hours on-call. A strong background in cardiac ultrasound and ARDMS/CCI certification is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must have ARDMS and/or CCI Certification.
• Must have two years experience in cardiac ultrasound.
• Must have two years experience in adult echocardiology.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to regularly travel locally to Ambulatory Practice off-site locations.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiography including M-mode, 2D/3D, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, CW Doppler, transesophageal echo, pharmacological and exercise stress echo, Holter monitors and ECGs.
• Prepare and position patients, adjust equipment, operate imaging systems.
• Travel between cardiology off-sites where procedures are performed.
• Assist in training fellows and students as assigned.
