Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to perform routine and emergency echocardiograms across multiple locations. You will explain procedures, maintain equipment, and support quality improvement efforts while providing compassionate patient care.

The role requires active BLS/CPR certification, high school diploma or GED, and ARRT/RDMS/RDCS credentials or eligibility, with RDCS or registry within 1 year preferred. Weekend and on-call coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Valid Sonography credential (ARRT, RDMS, RDCS) required or eligible.
• RDCS certified or registry in Echocardiography within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms per physician and protocol.
• Explain procedures and potential side effects to patients/families.
• Record quality information and follow imaging guidelines.
• Operate echocardiography equipment and maintain devices.
• Provide service across locations, including on-call coverage.
• Participate in quality improvement and education activities.
