Job summary

Capital One is seeking a seasoned Risk and Program Manager to lead cross-functional risk initiatives in the McLean, VA area. You will coordinate with business units to balance risk and return, synthesize data into actionable insights, and drive improvements in the control environment.

The role requires hands-on experience in risk management within financial services, strong stakeholder engagement, and a track record in delivering transformational programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 5 years of risk management or financial services experience.
• At least 4 years of program management experience.
• At least 4 years of internal business client interaction experience.
• CRMA, CRCM, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply risk management, project management and analytical skills to high-profile risk initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One.
• Lead, advise and innovate on transformational initiatives across business lines.
• Collaborate with business teams to develop products, processes, marketing, supporting technologies and risk management practices.
• Synthesize data and reporting, perform analysis, and provide proactive business insights.
• Deliver results and improvements aligned with business and risk agendas.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on supported business areas.
• Lead cross-functional teams and set direction.
