Job summary

Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions Team, formerly Beecher Carlson, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Captive practice. You will manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of captive insurance companies, serving as the focal contact with senior management and clients to develop strategic, consulting insights.

Responsibilities include preparing GAAP/modified GAAP financial statements, regulatory filings, audits, and client reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5–10 years progressive accounting experience, preferably within captive insurance, insurance, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting for captive portfolios, acting as primary contact with senior management and clients.
• Perform accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP/modified GAAP.
• Monitor cash and investment activity and intercompany transactions for accuracy.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external service providers.
• Present financial results to clients and assist with retention through high-quality reporting.
