Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Captive practice. You will manage day-to-day accounting for captive insurance entities, preparing GAAP-based financial statements and reporting packages, and coordinating regulatory filings across multiple domiciles.

The role requires 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple client portfolios with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting systems.
• CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting for captive insurance entities including general ledger, reconciliations, and custom reports.
• Prepare and review monthly/quarterly financial statements per GAAP, SAP, and modified GAAP.
• Monitor cash/investment activity and intercompany transactions for accuracy.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external service providers.
• Present financial results to clients and senior management, explaining complex accounting matters clearly.
• Utilize multiple accounting systems (Acumatica, MAS 500, BizNet, Velixo, Wings) to deliver accurate information.
