Job summary

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) seeks a Transportation Planning professional to support the ST3 program, coordinating planning efforts for West Seattle Link Extension, Ballard Link Extension, and related station access projects.

You will work in a matrixed team, manage interagency agreements, review design materials, and coordinate with City departments and partner agencies to advance multimodal transportation projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, urban planning, transportation planning, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years of project or construction management or related experience.
  • Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a highly matrixed structure to coordinate interdepartmental and interagency planning.
  • Lead and coordinate City reviews of major planning elements, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage interagency agreements for funding and delivery of station access projects.
  • Coordinate with partner departments on station area planning and multimodal access.
  • Review and evaluate design documents, plan sets, and interagency documentation.
  • Identify grant opportunities and manage grants to fund station access improvements.
  • Identify need for consultant support and manage consultant contracts.
  • Represent the City and ST3 planning priorities to stakeholders and leadership.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, urban planning, transportation planning, public administration, or a related field
