Job summary

Hood Container seeks a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator in Atlanta to lead planning, financial justification, governance, and execution of capital investments across packaging manufacturing ops. You will partner with plant leaders, engineering, and finance to ensure strong business cases, clear scope, and disciplined controls from request to closeout.

The role requires 5+ years in capital projects, budgeting, and reporting, with advanced Excel skills and ability to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of capital projects, project controls, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and project management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across locations and stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and project-management/reporting tools proficiency.
• Excellent communication with plant leadership, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and senior leaders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete, approval-ready capital project proposals with scope, justification, budgets, schedules, risks, and benefits.
• Evaluate financial justifications including ROI, payback, and productivity improvements.
• Coordinate stage-gate and approval processes ensuring governance and documentation.
• Track budgets, commitments, spend, forecasts, cash flow, schedules, and milestones.
• Provide project management from planning through execution and closeout.
• Identify risks needing leadership attention and elevate when necessary.
• Maintain capital project systems, documentation, and portfolio reporting.
• Prepare updates, forecasts, and variance analyses for executives.
• Drive consistent capital processes and reporting across locations.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers on design, equipment, installation, and commissioning.
• Travel to Hood Container facilities to support development and reviews.
