Job summary

City of Raleigh's Parks and Recreation department seeks a Capital Projects Senior Engineer to lead park-improvement projects from planning through construction. You will coordinate with designers, contractors, and City staff to ensure scope, schedule, and budget meet standards and public expectations.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 3–5 years of relevant experience; substitute with equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 3–5 years' experience in architecture, engineering, construction management or related work
• Ability to manage capital projects from planning through construction

Responsibilities

• Serve as the owner representative during design and construction, focusing on bidding and project oversight
• Administer construction contracts and oversee design consultants' services
• Attend project and construction meetings and conduct site observations
• Review performance and compliance with plans, codes, and standards
• Manage pay applications, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and schedules
• Oversee planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, closeout and warranty
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and City staff throughout projects
• Lead project closeout, including documentation and warranties
