Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead major capital projects across multiple sites in the US, including Columbus, OH. You will develop project charters, define scope, manage budgets, and drive strategies to satisfy business needs while coordinating with internal and external teams.

You should bring 10+ years of engineering or operational experience and a strong background in project management, procurement, and cost control. Travel up to 25% is required as part of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence.
• 10+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
• Proven track record of managing projects to completion, using external resources.
• Broad and deep knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external teams.
• Healthcare, nutritional products, medical devices, or similar industry background preferred.
• Understanding and management of procurement & contracting processes.
• Willingness to travel 25% (mostly domestic to our 7 Plants in the US).

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans, coordinates and directs engineering aspects of projects across multiple locations; manages multiple, concurrent projects.
• Defines project scope, objectives and technical criteria; aligns with customer needs and business foresight.
• Uses PM tools to stay within budget and achieve objectives.
• Develops project plans and coordinates subsidiary plans; supports long-term strategies.
• Directs and manages project execution to meet objectives and budgets.
• Closes projects and finalizes activities across PM process groups.
• Monitors risks and manages changes to deliverables and plans.
