Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an experienced commercial building project manager in Columbus, OH to lead major capital construction projects from $40M to $250M, advocating for the Owner and safeguarding project value.

The role requires strong leadership, scope development, funding approvals, and procurement coordination; PMP is preferred but not required, with opportunities across business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience required.
• Alternative: Associate’s degree with seven years of experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with nine years of experience.
• Two years PM experience or demonstrated competencies required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities using PM principles.
• Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for safety processes.
• Develop and manage project plans, budget, and funding approvals.
• Coordinate with Procurement for bid processes, contracts, and vendor management.
• Mentor other project managers and manage procurement plans and outside resources.
