Job summary

Civicworks is seeking a Senior Capacity Development Specialist to support capacity building for public water systems in Vermont. The role includes conducting sanitary surveys, developing operating permits, and managing grants and contracts under the Public Drinking Water Program.

The ideal candidate will have advanced degrees with relevant experience and strong project management, communication, and regulatory translation skills to ensure compliance with federal Safe Drinking Water Act

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 2+ years natural resources experience, OR Bachelor's degree with 3+ years.
• Excellent project management and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear language for diverse audiences.
• Strong coordination and teamwork abilities with internal and external partners.
• Knowledge of water system regulations and EPA Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support capacity building for public water systems.
• Conduct sanitary surveys and develop operating permits for new systems.
