Job summary

SmithGroup Houston office is seeking a Senior Campus Planner to lead our Campus Planning Studio. You will guide interdisciplinary teams, manage client relations, and deliver integrated campus plans across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in the AE industry with higher education projects, licenses, and a track record of winning work. Hybrid work options and competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or equivalent.
• 15+ years related AE industry experience preferred.
• Registration or licensure in relevant field.
• Track record of winning campus planning work with higher education clients.
• Experience with higher education clients through all planning phases.
• Sustainability credentials and/or certification within six months of hire.
• Strong leadership and business development capabilities.
• Ability to travel regionally/nationally 25-30%.

Responsibilities

• Provide team leadership and strategy for the Campus Planning Studio.
• Lead interdisciplinary campus planning teams and projects.
• Lead meetings with stakeholders and present findings.
• Communicate planning issues to campus/community groups.
• Produce project presentations, plan reports and deliverables.
• Identify target clients and support business development.
• Maintain client relationships and pursue opportunities.
• Provide marketing leadership across project phases.
• Represent SmithGroup's higher ed campus planning at conferences.
• Support recruitment, coaching, and staff development.
