Job summary

NBBJ seeks a Senior Higher Education Campus Planner/Designer to lead planning for university campuses, translating client vision into spatial strategies from campus-wide to site-specific scales. Hybrid work with travel 20-30%.

You will collaborate with practice leaders and architects, advocate for sustainability and equity, and present plans to university leaders. Requires a Bachelor's in Planning/Urban Design/Architecture and 15+ years of higher education experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in higher education planning or institutional strategy.
• Proven experience leading campus planning efforts for higher education institutions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in analog or digital sketching skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate client vision into actionable spatial strategies across campus scales.
• Collaborate with campus planning team and architects to meet client goals.
• Lead planning process from early engagement through final delivery.
• Present plans to senior university leadership and stakeholders.
• Support business development and industry thought leadership.
