Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to NYS Bar in good standing or eligible within six months.
• Minimum five years of legal practice for Associate level or ten years for Senior level, with litigation experience.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills; confidentiality and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on labor, employment, litigation, and administrative matters affecting the University.
• Coordinate litigation strategy and support, including discovery and e-discovery in coordination with counsel.
• Advise university leadership on risks, options, and strategic responses to disputes.
• Collaborate with university admins, faculty, staff, and outside counsel; coordinate with affiliated entities.
• Deliver legal and compliance training and monitor developments affecting higher education law.
