Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks an Associate or Senior Campus Counsel to join the Office of General Counsel. The role provides legal services on labor and employment matters, litigation, and regulatory compliance across SUNY and campus programs.

You will collaborate with university leadership and outside counsel, coordinating complex disputes and investigations. The position reports to UB's Chief Campus Counsel and requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing or eligibility within six months.
• Minimum five years of legal practice for Associate level or ten years for Senior level, with substantial litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on labor, employment, and litigation matters, and support campus management of disputes and investigations.
• Draft and review legal analyses, position statements, and litigation papers; coordinate with counsel of record.
• Serve as liaison with SUNY and outside counsel to coordinate legal services and governance matters.
