Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks an Associate or Senior Campus Counsel to provide primary legal services on contracts and business transactions, including procurement, construction, real estate, licensing, and partnerships.

You will draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of agreements and support governance, risk management, and compliance. Collaboration with SUNY regions and UB leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to NYS Bar in good standing or eligible within six months.
• Minimum five years of legal practice for Associate level, seven years for Senior, with at least three years drafting and negotiating contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary legal advice on contracts, procurement, construction, real estate, licensing, and partnerships.
• Draft, review, negotiate, revise, and finalize a broad range of agreements.
• Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, guidelines, and risk-management processes.
• Advise governance and transactional matters for the university and affiliated entities.
• Collaborate with System Administration and other SUNY regional offices to standardize legal services.
