Job summary

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing or eligibility within six months.
• Minimum five (5) years of legal practice with substantial experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts and business transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary legal advice on transactional and business matters, including complex contracts and procurement.
• Draft, review, negotiate, revise, and finalize a broad range of agreements and licenses.
• Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and guidance to support consistent contract reviews.
• Advise on governance and transactions with affiliated organizations and SUNY components.
• Review proposed transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and SUNY policies.
• Collaborate with SUNY System Administration and other campuses on system-wide contracting initiatives.
