Job summary

Camp Knutson, a service of Lutheran Social Service MN, seeks a Sr. Camp Cook to operate a high‑quality bulk and family‑style food operation for campers and staff.

You will prepare and serve meals, follow set menus, and work alongside Camp Leadership and other cooks. Open year‑round in Minnesota, the role includes a Summer season with 40 hours/week and 2 meals daily, plus a Retreat season with 8‑hour shifts and 20–70 guests per meal.

Qualifications

• 5 years of food service experience.
• Serve Safe Certificate or ability to obtain after hire
• Leadership or management experience; experience cooking for special dietary needs.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Ability to relate to youth and adults positively.
• Adaptable, efficient, able to work under pressure during busy serve times.
• Understand and utilize food safety skills.
• Be able to mark/label foods properly.
• Ability to follow recipes and use measurement tools.
• Good problem solving and customer service skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill under training by Camp Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Operate a smooth food service operation providing high quality and adequate quantities.
• Prepare and serve bulk, family-style meals following the set menu.
• Work alongside Camp Leadership, Cooks and Kitchen Assistants.
