Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer in Boston, MA to lead the design of camera-based and sensor-based systems from concept through prototype and validation.

You will create 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, perform thermal analyses, and collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and robust performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in mechanical product design and development.
• Strong experience with camera-based or sensor-based products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Experience with thermal management and simulations.
• Knowledge of DFx (DFM/ DFA) principles.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products from concept to validation.
• Lead mechanical design of camera-focused and sensor-focused systems.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Perform thermal analysis and simulations to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Software, Systems, and Manufacturing teams.
• Define and manage mechanical design requirements throughout lifecycle.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis for manufacturability.
• Perform design verification testing and root-cause analysis.
• Drive design reviews and ensure quality and production readiness.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and production transition.
• Maintain engineering documentation and design records.
• Independently manage multiple projects to meet timelines.
