Job summary

Amazon seeks a Mechanical Product Design Engineer in Boston, MA to drive camera-based and sensor-based development from concept to validation. You will own complex mechanical design tasks in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with design verification, testing, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of product development activities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Collaborate closely with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams to integrate hardware and software components.
  • Define, document, and manage mechanical design requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and validate designs for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Perform design verification testing, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving to resolve product issues.
  • Drive design reviews and ensure compliance with quality, reliability, and production requirements.
  • Support prototype builds, testing activities, and transition of products into production.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, test reports, and design records.
  • Independently manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.
