Senior CADD/Transportation Designer
Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a CADD/Designer at our Austin office. The candidate should have 15+ years minimum drafting experience with Microstation or other Bentley design software. Experience with TxDOT PS&E plan development, including roadway, traffic control, signing & striping, drainage, SW3P, design cross sections, and quantity calculations, is a significant plus. The candidate needs experience with OpenRoads 3D modeling and presentation preparation.

Education: Certified CADD/Drafting program (minimum 2 years), Engineering Technology Certification, 3D Modeling certification, and/or Bentley certifications.
Duties:
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, including 3D designs, for roadway and highway projects in a digital delivery environment, coordinating closely with project engineers and designers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Create detail plan sheets, plan sets, and exhibits emphasizing presentation and consistency, following CADD Guidelines/Best Practices for multiple clients.
- Develop and document quantities.
- Implement, refine, and develop CADD standards and Quality Control Procedures with the team.
- Work with OpenRoads Terrains, including LIDAR-derived terrains.
- Use ProjectWise to deploy new CADD Workspaces/Worksets for Bentley OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition projects.
- Assist in the digital delivery of project teams.
- Configure Bentley CADD products for users across the company to ensure uniformity.

- Serve as Lead Principal-in-Charge for designated Practice Areas in the geographic market.

- Prepare comprehensive project work plans and ensure proper staffing.

- Collaborate with project managers to resolve issues impacting project performance, reviewing progress regularly.
- Contribute to project profitability and financial health.
- Oversee staff deliverables to meet client, legal, and company standards.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-year Certified CADD/Drafting program, Engineering Technology Certification, 3D Modeling, and/or Bentley certifications; experience in BIM, Gaming, Surveying, or other 3D industries considered.
- 15+ years of experience as a CADD Designer or Manager in Civil Engineering, with modeling software expertise.
- Required experience with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation PowerGeopak; additional skills in AutoCADD, Civil3D, 3dsmax, Unreal Engine, Revit, Rhino3d are advantageous.
- Ability to create realistic 3D renderings and animations using Bentley's rendering tools is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with experience working across multiple offices.
- Experience on large infrastructure projects, such as roadways, interchanges, airports, and government buildings, is highly desirable.
- Willingness to learn new software and processes.
- Ability to develop complex 3D models and drawings from specifications or sketches.
- Interact with Bentley support for software issues.
- Ensure high standards of competency, accuracy, and efficiency in project delivery.
- Availability for occasional travel.
