Job summary

Luster National in the United States is seeking Computer-aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Specialists across skill levels to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit (bus and rail), aviation, and water/wastewater projects delivered through traditional and alternative delivery methods.

You’ll verify submissions against project CADD standards, keep controlled drawing sets current and defensible, and build the exhibits and figures staff

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting and design technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of CADD experience for large (> $500M), complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience developing and checking heavy civil plan sets against defined CADD standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, topographic surveys, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of revision control, file naming, and submittal tracking across multiple contracts or design teams.
• Proficiency with industry standard CADD, modeling, common data environment, and drawing review software (e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Review consultant and contractor drawing sets against the program’s CADD standards and log nonconformance for correction.
• Check submitted plan sets for completeness, cross-referencing, scale, and datum consistency.
• Maintain the controlled drawing set with revision control, submittal and transmittal logging, and release of as-issued sheets.
• Develop drawings, exhibits, and figures in CADD to support the program team.
• Compile and mark up plan sheets with design review comments and track them to the drawing change.
• Verify that as-built drawings reflect approved changes before they enter the permanent record set.
• Support quantity verification by takeoffs from approved plans and contractor quantities.
• Coordinate drawing files across contracts/disciplines to maintain consistency.
• Confirm drawings reference survey control, coordinate system, and datum.
• Manage CADD files in the program’s common data environment including check-in/out and access control.
• Reconcile files between Autodesk and Bentley formats for combined review.
