State of Illinois is seeking a Senior Squad Technician (Engineering Technician IV) in Dixon, IL. The role focuses on preparing design reports, plans, and specifications for highway projects and requires proficiency in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).

You will contribute to project coordination and ensure compliance with standards, while mentoring junior staff. Hybrid work options are available with a schedule that may require in-office presence.

Qualifications

• Two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or related technical/science curriculum plus five years of engineering experience; OR seven years of engineering experience.

Responsabilités

• Oversees technical aspects of project report and plan preparation for highway improvements.
• Prepares accurate CADD drawings, project reports and contract plans meeting standards within deadlines.
• Assembles plans to ensure completeness and proper quantity scheduling and standard application.
• Instructs staff on drafting techniques, project reports and plan preparation procedures.
• Prepares exhibits for project coordination with outside agencies and public meetings.
• Follows departmental safety rules and ensures fair treatment of all employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
