Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking Civil Engineer Trainees in Dixon, IL to assist in preparing final plans and implementing highway projects. You will rotate through district bureaus, learn field and office practices, and support design efforts under supervision.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree or current Illinois Engineer Intern/Professional Engineer license.
Two or more years of related coursework or experience in civil engineering preferred.
Strong communication and written skills required.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing final plans and implementation for highway construction projects.
Provide accurate measurements, computations, and documentation of engineering items.
Participate in rotational training across district bureaus.
Ensure compliance with specifications and safety rules.
