Entrust Corporation, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to design, prototype, and implement ideas for printing and personalizing secure IDs and documents. The role supports hands‑on design onsite with flexibility to work from home when appropriate.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, interpret product requirements, create drawings, and manage BOMs throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering CAD.
• 5+ years of product development experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US.

Responsibilities

• Interpret product requirements and develop mechanical design solutions.
• Create part drawings, solid models and bills of material (BOMs).
• Lead design and drawing reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials.
• Prototype, test, and iterate on designs.

Position Overview

Join a talented and dynamic team of mechanical engineers and designers developing systems used to print and personalize credit cards, passports, driver’s licenses, national IDs and more. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and implementing ideas into production. You will receive direction from Mechanical Engineers and collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners to deliver accurate, timely results. This role is based onsite to support hands‑on design and collaboration, with flexibility to work from home when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Interpret product requirements and develop mechanical design solutions.
• Create part drawings, solid models and bills of material (BOMs).
• Lead design and drawing reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials.
• Prototype, test, and iterate on designs.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to solve technical problems.
• Maintain and update mechanical subassemblies throughout product lifecycle.
• Apply strong understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure high‑quality parts.
• Prepare and document accurate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering CAD.
• 5+ years of product development experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with injection‑molded, plastic‑part design.
• Experience with sheet metal, machined part design.
• 3D printing experience and maintenance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on skills.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑directed, organized and deadline driven.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, team‑focused environment.
• Understand GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).

Compensation Range

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $34.07-$49.97 per hour (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan.
