Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to develop, modify, and release engineering models, assemblies, and drawings for umbilical systems and launch pad infrastructure. Proficiency in Creo and CN release processes is required to ensure conformance with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.

The role focuses on ground testing equipment, tooling, and interfacing with vehicles and ground support equipment. The position is a 6‑month onsite contract in Kent, WA, with collaboration across engineering

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting/Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Creo for modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
• Experience with configuration management and engineering change/release processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release CN-controlled designs, models, and drawings for umbilical assemblies and routing hardware.
• Define and document umbilical interfaces with vehicle, payload, and ground support equipment.
• Develop, modify, and maintain Creo models, assemblies, and drawings following conventions and CN release requirements.
• Perform model checks, design reviews, and CN release activities.
• Develop and release CN-controlled designs for test fixtures, stands, and instrumentation hardware.
• Define test equipment interfaces with units under test (mechanical, fluid, electrical).
• Develop CN-controlled designs for launch pad structures and infrastructure.
• Define interfaces between launch pad systems, vehicles, and ground equipment.
• Develop CN-controlled designs for lifting fixtures, transport frames, handling rings, tooling.
• Define tooling interfaces and operation requirements.
• Generate detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Maintain product data and configuration management via CN releases.
• Collaborate with stress analysts and design engineers on design changes.
• Support design reviews and documentation throughout lifecycle.
