Job summary

Charlie Mike Recruiting seeks an experienced Senior CAD Designer specializing in commercial construction to join our Illinois team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years in CAD design for construction projects and a solid understanding of commercial systems, materials, and processes.

You will create detailed drawings, collaborate with architects, engineers, PMs, and clients, review construction drawings, and ensure designs meet codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CAD design experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of commercial construction systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Understanding of building codes, construction standards, and safety regulations.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical plans for commercial construction projects.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to meet specifications.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings related to construction systems.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry CAD tools to create detailed designs.
• Assist in material take-offs and cost estimations.
• Maintain documentation of all drawings and revisions.
• Provide support during the construction phase to resolve design issues.
