Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced CAD Design Professional to provide technical design and drafting support for transportation and infrastructure projects in Maryland. You will generate accurate 3D CADD designs, prepare plans and specifications, and work closely with engineers to resolve design details on moderate-scale projects.

The role requires a high school diploma, 7+ years of post-education experience, and strong knowledge of drafting principles and codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-education experience in design and drafting.
• Knowledge of drafting and design principles, practices, and techniques.
• Ability to perform technical computations involving geometry and plans.
• Ability to work independently and in teams on project tasks.
• Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical audiences.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, drawings, and specifications to support drafting.
• Create 3D CADD designs with engineers to resolve details and ensure precision.
• Prepare deliverables like reports, memos, plans, profiles, and specs.
• Ensure designs meet standards, accuracy, and functionality requirements.
• Verify calculations and interpretation of contract plans and specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams across phases.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors for design review and approvals.
• Uphold safety, ethics, and company policies in all work.
