Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced design professional to provide technical design and CADD support for transportation, infrastructure, and technical services projects in the Washington, DC area. You will generate precise design deliverables, coordinate with engineers, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, strong math and CAD skills, and the ability to work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of post-education drafting and design support experience.
• Strong knowledge of drafting and design principles and coding/regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to perform technical computations using geometry and math.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and CADD support for projects across planning, transportation, and infrastructure.
• Generate design deliverables including reports, plans, profiles, models, specifications, and material lists.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design details and ensure accuracy.
• Verify calculations and interpret contract plans and specs; escalate issues as needed.
• Prepare multiple design versions for review and ensure compliance with standards.
• Support project phases and coordinate with clients and contractors as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and company conduct requirements.
