Zusammenfassung

X-energy is seeking a seasoned CAD designer to join our Gaithersburg team. This role delivers 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for reactor/plant SSCs, coordinating with responsible engineers and developing manufacturing drawings and data packs.

Responsibilities include ensuring manufacturability, maintaining PLM/PDE data, and integrating 3D models with NX, UG, and AutoCAD workflows while following design for manufacturing and assembly best practices.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s degree in drafting, CAD, engineering or related degree or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of CAD/3D drafter/designer experience; previous X-energy experience may be substituted.
• Experience using 3D CAD software (UG/NX, SolidWorks, PTC Creo/Pro-E or similar).
• Experience using 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, SmartPlant Electrical, Microstation, Revit or similar).
• Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
• Experience analyzing, drafting, designing, and specifying electrical and power systems per standards.

Aufgaben

• Create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings of equipment, plant layout, structures, systems and components (PFDs, P&IDs, Isos, piping arrangements).
• Assess models for manufacturability and assembly considerations.
• Prepare/update manufacturing drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers on equipment installations and plant engineering.
• Maintain design calculations, drawings, BOMs and parameter lists.
• Adhere to XE processes and CAD best practices; ensure standardization across teams.
