Job summary

Jefferies is seeking an experienced C++ engineer for its Equities OMS and Electronic Trading Technology team in New York. You will design, develop, and support mission-critical trading systems handling order management, routing, execution, risk controls, and exchange connectivity.

The role requires hands-on front-office work with traders and product managers, delivering high-performance, scalable solutions while collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering electronic trading/front-office platforms.
• Expert knowledge of modern C++ (C++17/20).
• Strong Linux development experience.
• Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Experience building front-office trading systems.
• Strong knowledge of OMS, FIX Protocol, Market Data, Smart Order Routing, Execution Workflows, and Pre-Trade Risk Controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support high-performance OMS and electronic trading applications.
• Build scalable, low-latency solutions using modern C++.
• Develop and maintain FIX connectivity, market data integrations, and exchange interfaces.
• Partner with trading, product, operations, and risk teams to deliver business functionality.
• Drive system performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Support production systems and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced trading environment.
