Nix is seeking an experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to join an embedded vision systems project, contributing to a ROS2-based traffic management platform. You will design core C++ components, integrate sensors, ensure real-time performance, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable software for complex traffic scenarios.

In this role you will influence architectural decisions, perform code reviews, and mentor colleagues while working in a flexible, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core C++ components within a ROS2-based system.
• Develop and maintain high-quality software using Modern C++ (C++17/20).
• Integrate sensors, external interfaces, and third-party components.
• Develop distributed, component-based applications using pub/sub and message-based communication.
• Contribute to software architecture and design decisions, evaluate technical options, ensure maintainable solutions.
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure quality, reliability, and stability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and implement performance optimizations focusing on runtime performance and resource use.
• Debug and troubleshoot in Linux, including profiling and performance analysis.
• Maintain container images and build configurations for development and target environments.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders; provide mentorship to less experienced developers.
