Job summary

Jobot is seeking a senior C++ software leader to direct architecture and hands-on development for submarine combat systems in an on-site Rhode Island environment. You will guide design across layers, mentor engineers, and drive test and fielding efforts with DoD-grade rigor.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, DoD Secret clearance, and strong Linux/C++ skills, with Kubernetes, gRPC, and DDS/AMQP familiarity to support modern modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible software development experience.
• Technical lead experience on a complex software product or integration effort.
• Advanced modern C++ (C++11+), multithreading, asynchronous design, and performance tuning.
• Strong Linux experience, ideally RHEL or a derivative.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for complex C++ software systems for submarine combat systems.
• Lead design decisions across application, middleware, interface, and deployment layers.
• Mentor engineers and conduct code and design reviews.
• Ensure secure coding and CI/CD practices across the team.
