Clear Street in Chicago/New York City is building the next generation of its algorithmic execution platform. The greenfield effort centers on a low-latency, C++-based system with FIX connectivity, real-time risk controls, and deep integration across U.S.

exchanges and dark venues. The role is a core infrastructure position on a small, focused team, based hybrid (4 days in office) out of New York, NY or Lisle, IL.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building high-performance, low-latency systems in C++ in production
• Deep knowledge of FIX protocol and full order lifecycle
• Experience with exchange market data protocols and building production-grade feed handlers
• Strong understanding of low-latency architecture, kernel bypass and hot-path profiling
• Experience with multicast messaging (Aeron, LBM, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of U.S. equity market structure and Reg NMS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/Engineering/Math or related STEM field

Responsabilités

• Design and harden the FIX acceptor serving as the inbound order entry point
• Build and maintain production-grade feed handlers for ITCH, OUCH, and binary formats
• Develop and optimize venue connectivity and latency profiling
• Implement real-time pre-trade risk checks with microsecond latency budgets
• Contribute to platform configuration, internal messaging, and audit-trail logging
• Migrate existing algorithmic strategies onto the new platform component by component
