Stellar is seeking a C++ Engineer to design and evolve Stellar Core, the distributed engine powering the Stellar Network. You will work on high-performance distributed systems used by developers, institutions, and builders worldwide.

The role emphasizes formal verification, simulations, and multi-core performance, with autonomy in a small, growing team and a hybrid work model in the USA.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Proficient in writing code in modern C++ or Rust in production.
• Strong communication and ability to lead technical discussions during design/reviews.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and modular components.
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core - the backbone software behind the Stellar Network.
• Design and develop robust, scalable technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO, engineers, and open source developers.
• Write clean, maintainable code with attention to edge cases and future-proofing.
• Own core subsystems of Stellar Core and help hit product milestones.
• Collaborate on code reviews and RFC processes.
