Stellar is seeking a seasoned C++ Engineer to design Stellar Core, the backbone powering our global ledger and consensus. You will tackle real-world distributed systems challenges, focusing on performance, resilience, and scalability while collaborating closely with the CTO and a growing team of engineers.

You will advocate for robust architectures, write clean code, and contribute to RFCs and design discussions that shape the open financial future.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Proficient in modern C++ or Rust in a production environment.
• Excellent communicator and able to lead technical discussions during design and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core—the backbone software powering the Stellar Network.
• Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO, engineers, and the open-source community.
• Write clean, maintainable code with attention to edge cases and future-proofing.
• Own core subsystems and help meet product milestones.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
