Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, AD integration, and IIS-based deployments. This fully remote role supports a modern Microsoft stack across the full application lifecycle.

You will optimize queries, implement new features, and collaborate with DBAs, system admins, and security teams to ensure secure, scalable software that meets government IT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience with SQL Server backends.
• Solid T‑SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
• SQL Server Agent job management and IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications across the full stack.
• Support SQL Server databases including queries, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages and manage SQL Server Agent jobs.
• Design and optimize relational databases and T‑SQL code.
• Configure AD authentication and IIS settings; troubleshoot end-to-end issues.
• Collaborate with DBAs, systems admins, and security teams on new features.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices; write clean, well-documented code.
• Stay current with .NET updates and best practices; participate in code reviews.
