GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a web application backed by SQL Server, SSIS, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs. The role is fully remote within the United States and requires strong backend and data access skills as well as collaboration with IT operations.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering, with hands-on expertise in MVC/Web API/Web Forms, T-SQL, IIS, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication. Able read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end components.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server), including writing efficient T-SQL, stored procedures.
