Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, Active Directory integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs.

This fully remote role within the United States requires deep .NET knowledge, strong SQL skills, and the ability to work across cross‑functional teams while following secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or commensurate experience.
• 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience; solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET applications (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) with front‑end/back‑end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages and manage SSIS workflows.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server) and write T‑SQL, stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot end‑to‑end issues across UI to database/server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams on features and fixes.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write maintainable code following .NET standards and OO design.
