Job summary

Vigor Marine Group is seeking a Buyer to support purchasing relationships and processes at the Seattle Shipyard. The role initiates POs, authorizes releases, and interfaces with suppliers under supervision of the Manager.

Responsibilities include quotes, order maintenance, and timely receipts in ERP. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in procurement, a high school diploma (business degree preferred), and strong negotiation and communications skills.

Qualifications

• Must understand purchasing principles and procurement cycles.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to solve problems and work with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient PC/databases use.

Responsibilities

• Run the Supply Chain inbox for Seattle Shipyard; process requisitions and assign to teammates.
• Obtain quotes for materials and services to support Program Teams.
• Create accurate Purchase Orders in ERP and issue to suppliers.
• Update delivery dates, expedite materials, and provide PO status to operations.
