Edsal Manufacturing is a leading designer and manufacturer of steel shelving and storage solutions based in Chicago. We seek an experienced Buyer to manage purchasing for multiple categories, coordinating with US and international suppliers to keep materials flowing and meet production needs.

The role targets strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and data-driven cost improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• 4–6 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM or ISM CPSM certification preferred or in progress.

Responsabilités

• Create and manage purchase orders for US and international suppliers based on MRP requirements, production schedules, and inventory levels.
• Ensure accurate order execution, data entry, and reporting for assigned products and services.
• Review vendor order confirmations and update pricing in the system.
• Verify purchases against approved item lists and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
• Follow up on back orders and past-due orders, and communicate order status and expected delivery dates to end users.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers, and support quoting and bid activity for assigned categories.
