Job summary

FMH Conveyors, part of the Duravant family, seeks a Buyer in Jonesboro, AR to support purchasing, production, engineering and customer service. The role demands accuracy, organization and rapid learning to improve operations and processes.

The Buyer collaborates with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR and Manufacturing to execute strategies, meet budgets and drive timely material flow. Excellent documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business-related field
• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems
• Displays original thinking and resourcefulness; suggests improvements
• Learns quickly when facing new problems; open to change; strives for continuous improvement
• Excellent communication (oral and written)
• Knowledge of production and inventory control functions
• Experience with lean concepts and tools
• Knowledge of purchasing and manufacturing systems
• 5-7 years of experience
• Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills
• Strong collaboration skills across multiple departments
• Strong sense of urgency and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchase order management to fill production and parts orders
• Notify management if requested deliveries cannot be met and communicate new delivery dates
• Confirm receipt of purchase orders to suppliers
• Manage confirmations to ensure pricing and delivery dates are accurate
• Handle all quote requests from Inside Sales and Customer Service
• Manage customer backlog report to ensure timely delivery from suppliers
• Expedite production parts and customer orders as needed
• Place MRO and expense purchase orders from requisitions
• Enter expense, VMI, raw material, and consignment purchase orders as needed
• Maintain on time purchase orders from suppliers
• Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and revised to increase efficiency
• Assist in leading annual physical inventory
• Participate in SIOP meetings and provide updates
• Observe safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
