Job summary

FMH Conveyors is seeking a Buyer to support purchasing, production, engineering and customer service quote requests. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong documentation, organization and written communication with a focus on accuracy.

The Buyer will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR and Manufacturing to execute company strategies, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery. This is an office-based role with occasional floor visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
• Original thinking and creativity; solution-oriented; process improvement.
• Learns quickly, open to change, continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication (oral and written).
• Knowledge of production and inventory control functions.
• Experience with lean concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of purchasing and manufacturing systems.
• 5-7 years of experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong collaboration across multiple departments.
• Strong sense of urgency and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchase order management to fill production and parts orders.
• Notify management if deliveries cannot be met and communicate new delivery dates.
• Confirm receipt of purchase orders to suppliers.
• Manage confirmations to ensure pricing and delivery dates are accurate; contact past-due orders.
• Handle all quote requests from Inside Sales and Customer Service for parts orders.
• Manage customer backlog report to ensure timely delivery from suppliers.
• Expedite production parts and customer orders as needed.
• Place MRO and expense purchase orders from requisitions.
• Enter expense, VMI, raw material, and consignment purchase orders as needed.
• Maintain on-time purchase orders from suppliers.
• Ensure policies are reviewed and updated to improve efficiency.
• Assist in leading annual physical inventory.
• Participate in SIOP meetings and provide updates.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
