Job summary

ASM seeks a Senior Buyer to ensure uninterrupted supply of direct materials for manufacturing, driving supplier performance and risk mitigation. You will partner with planning, engineering, and production teams to align sourcing with product launches and ramp-ups.

The role requires strategic thinking, data-driven decision making, and strong negotiation skills to optimize cost, quality, and delivery in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Experience in managing direct materials in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong Excel data analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and supplier relationship management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of direct materials to support production requirements and long-term supply continuity.
• Create, issue, confirm, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders.
• Lead supplier performance management to ensure material availability and delivery reliability.
• Mitigate supply risks through supplier engagement and contingency planning.
• Lead product transfers, manufacturing ramp-ups, and new product introductions to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
• Resolve complex supplier invoice discrepancies and goods receipt issues with internal stakeholders.
• Develop corrective action plans from supplier performance metrics to improve on-time delivery and quality.

Education
