Job summary

Thuma is seeking a commercially minded Buyer to shape our expanding assortment from concept through launch and beyond. You will own assortment strategy, translate customer insights into profitable products, and partner with design, product development, sourcing, and inventory planning.

Based in San Francisco, this hybrid role requires 3–5 days in the office and a track record of growing sales and profitability in home or design-led categories.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of buying or merchandising experience, preferably in home or design-led consumer business.
• Excellent eye for design, materials, quality, and proportion.
• Strong command of assortment planning, pricing, margin, forecasting, and inventory productivity.
• Experience partnering with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to turn data into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own assortment strategy and product direction from concept to launch and beyond.
• Drive business performance with sales and margin goals and partner on forecasts and open-to-buy.
• Represent the merchant perspective in product development and launches; balance design with unit economics.
• Partner with Brand, Creative, Digital, Retail, and Visual Merchandising to tell compelling product stories.
