Job summary

Flow Control Group (FCG) is seeking a Senior Buyer to source and purchase materials and services for data-center projects, including air compressors, pumps, valves, piping, and fabricated skids. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Quality, Inventory Management and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in purchasing within manufacturing and distribution, strong ERP/MRP knowledge, and the ability to read drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive purchasing experience in manufacturing and distribution.
• Experience sourcing industrial equipment and components (air compressors, pumps, valves, piping, controls, instrumentation) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase air compressors, pumps, valves, piping components, fabricated skids, motors, controls, instrumentation for data-center applications.
• Manage purchasing for stocked distribution products and engineered-to-order projects.
• Review drawings, BOMs, specifications, and production schedules to determine material requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and issue purchase orders; develop sourcing strategies to reduce cost and lead times.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Quality to ensure on-time delivery and supplier performance.
