Job summary

Data One Construction is seeking a Buyer to source, negotiate, and purchase materials, tools, and services for electrical contracting projects.

The ideal candidate will manage vendor relationships, track orders, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget while demonstrating strong negotiation and communication skills. This role requires travel up to 50% and an in-person work location.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience (construction or electrical industry preferred).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with project management or ERP systems a plus.
• Experience with Procore or Odoo helpful.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for multiple projects
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality
• Track orders, deliveries, and inventory to meet project timelines
• Review purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with project specifications
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to forecast needs and resolve supply chain challenges
• Maintain organized procurement records and reports
