Description and Responsibilities

Location: 715 Fountain Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601

We are excited to welcome a Senior Buyer to our Lancaster, PA team!

Overview: This position is responsible for acquiring materials, supplies, and services for items with standard costs and quoted discounts. The role involves determining procurement methods, preparing purchase orders or bid requests, reviewing bid proposals, and negotiating contracts within budget and scope. Maintaining records related to costs, delivery, performance, inventory, and supplier visits is essential. The Senior Buyer may also participate in supplier site visits and quality audits, partnering with key facility members to meet operational needs efficiently and cost-effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, purchase raw materials, subcontracted, and buy-to-order materials to ensure production continuity, maintain inventory levels, and foster positive vendor relationships.
• Plan and schedule raw material purchases supporting the Strategic Procurement Plan.
• Maintain supplier scorecards to evaluate performance.
• Process and maintain Purchase Orders and Invoices.
• Communicate expected delivery dates, arrivals, missed deliveries, and alternative options to management.
• Explore alternate sourcing options, prepare cost analyses, and compare suppliers to recommend strategic changes.
• Oversee the import of raw materials.
• Report on costs and lead times for primary and alternate suppliers.
• Implement and maintain the Ecore Purchasing Specifications program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Purchasing Management (CPM) or Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) coursework preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and contracting skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
