Summary Description

This position involves researching, evaluating, and purchasing products/materials necessary for manufacturing saleable products. The Senior Buyer reviews supplier quotes and service information, places purchase orders, expedites shipments, manages returns, and ensures PO terms are met. The role also includes managing excess and obsolete inventory to mitigate risks. The individual supports line operations, project execution, and collaborates across departments to meet KPIs and metrics.

Description

This role includes:

1. Placing purchase orders for inventory and non-inventory items, monitoring PO changes, deliveries, and supply issues, and maintaining purchasing records.
2. Managing inventory by identifying discrepancies, planning levels to support production, reducing E&O risk, supporting new product introductions, and coordinating with third-party suppliers.
3. Communication across organizational lines to coordinate purchasing, inform about supply gaps, and support meetings with data presentations.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

• BA degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing, including vendor selection and negotiations
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle)
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• APICS certification (a plus)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Goal-oriented, confident, and able to work under pressure
• Analytical skills for data-driven decisions
• Ability to build cross-organizational partnerships
• Decisiveness and critical thinking
• Ability to work independently and proactively
